ステートメント

　山の中腹が崩れて地面が見えている場所、それは大地の「傷」だ。風化した岩肌が鋸の刃のように連なるバッドランド（悪地）や、露天掘りの採石場を見るとき、私は地球の剥き出しの「内臓」が目の前に現れたかのように感じる。私たちの足下には、巨大な生命体が静かに息づいている。

　私はその大地をネオンピンク色で描く。人肌や内臓といった生命を連想させながら、一方で人工的なこの色は、大地の生命を感じることなく平滑な表面の上で営まれる現代の生活との対比をよく表現すると思うからだ。

　樹脂粘土で作るピンクの石は、その巨大な生命体のかけらである。河原でたまたま拾った１つの石も、元を辿れば巨大な岩盤から生まれ落ちてきたもの。ピンクの石から元を辿ることで、私たちは巨大な生命体＝「ピンクの星」に住んでいることを思い起こす。

Where a mountainside collapses and exposes the bare earth—that is a "wound" of the land. When I look at badlands, with their weathered rock faces lined up like saw teeth, or open-pit quarries, I feel as if the exposed "entrails" of the Earth have appeared right before my eyes. Beneath our feet, a colossal living organism breathes in silence.

I paint this earth in neon pink. While it evokes life, like human skin or internal organs, this artificial color also sharpens the contrast with modern life, which plays out on flat surfaces without ever feeling the vitality of the earth.

The pink stones I create from polymer clay are fragments of that giant living being. A single stone picked up by chance on a riverbank was born, if we trace its origin, from a massive bedrock. By tracing back from these pink stones, we are reminded that we live on a giant living organism—a pink planet.
